MendenFreiman Announces the Upcoming Retirement of Co-founding Partner, George D. Menden
With great pride and warm wishes, MendenFreiman announces the planned retirement of one of its co-founding partners, George D. Menden, effective December 31, 2018. After an accomplished career dedicated to his clients, partners, and coworkers, George has certainly earned the opportunity to devote more time to his family, church, active travel, and learning beyond the law. George looks forward to hiking and cycling in interesting destinations and studying new languages, computer programming, and behavioral economics.
During his career, George handled many important matters, including business mergers and acquisitions, business law and tax planning, private client tax and estate planning, and wealth protection. George’s clients have included individuals, national and international corporations, and many family-owned businesses. In recognition of the breadth and depth of his expertise, George has received both statewide and national recognition and honors such as an AV Preeminent Rating by Martindale-Hubbell (the highest rating given for legal expertise and ethical reputation), a Five Star Wealth Manager, Super Lawyer, one of Georgia Trend’s Legal Elite, and Georgia’s Legal Leaders. Of great importance to MendenFreiman, George was integrally involved in mentoring younger attorneys to aspire to the same high standards.
“For many years, I have had the privilege of being the public face for an incredibly talented team of lawyers, paralegals, and administrative staff at the firm, as we have worked together on all client projects. With my retirement, our clients will have the opportunity to meet and work more directly with the capable team members who have been involved all along,” stated George Menden.
“George is fortunate that he can retire at the height of his career, leaving a legacy of excellence,” said Lawrence (Larry) Freiman, Co-founding and Managing Partner. “It is hard to believe more than 21 years have passed since George invited me to join him to build a law firm to serve its clients, employees, and community with integrity and compassion. I am pleased to look at our record of successes and tell George, ‘mission accomplished.’”
The firm and its team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff will continue to serve George’s clients after his retirement. George will remain affiliated with the firm Of Counsel.
